For the first time since we began on our vineyard, we harvested in two segments. We began at the crack of dawn on October 13th thinking we could finish before the rain set in, but that was not to be. We picked just over 4 tons and loaded the grape bins onto the truck just as the drizzle set in. Had we thought it would stay a drizzle we might have forged on ahead and finished, however, there were weather predictions of a severe storm the likes of which hadn't been seen in Oregon in 60 years. Surprise surprise, no storm. Nonetheless, we harvested our beautiful grapes and got them to crush by the afternoon. The following Thursday we had a repeat performance. Double the grapes and double the fun!
